IGMA has welcomed many international members in its 35 year history but 2014 is the very first year that the Guild has held classes outside the United States. In collaboration with the Kensington Dollshouse Festival, the International Guild of Miniature Artisans is holding four classes in the days immediately preceding the summer Kensington Festival, and arrangements are being solidified to repeat the program in 2015.
The instructors for 2015 are all Fellow members of the Guild and represent the international nature of the Guild’s membership, and all are very experienced with many years of teaching at Guild School between them. Bonni Backe
specializes in textile techniques, Nell Corkin works in the minute scale of 1/144, Ann High makes carved furniture, predominantly from the medieval through Stuart periods and Christina Minischetti makes 1/12 scale food and lately, miniature mosaics as well.
Class projects have not been settled upon, but the latest information will always be available on the Guild’s website. What could be better than a little trip to London–take a class and shop a world class show!
