The 2015 Guild Show took place earlier this month, and if you were there, you know what a special weekend this event has become. For some attendees, the weekend started on Wednesday, with a day trip to the historic Hudson Valley, taking in an historic home and museum, both of which featured dollhouses and miniatures. For other attendees, a Thursday class began their Guild Show experience, still others kicked off their weekend Thursday evening with dinner at Trecolori, and the Broadway show, An American in Paris.

But everyone was here to shop and many enjoyed sneaking a peak into the dealer room while the dealers were setting up on

Friday before joining the Gathering of the Guild for Desserts and Demonstrations. A couple of tasty bites, while watching the demonstrations in a variety of craft mediums, is a great way to relax with fellow miniaturists and pick up a few tips as well!

Saturday at 9 a.m. with a 1-hour preview for Guild members-one of the perks of IGMA membership, and at 10 a.m., the general public was admitted as well. While the Guild Show will never match the quantity available at the larger shows, it always more than matches the quality, with top-notch dealers and merchandise from artists around the world, including many IGMA Artisan and Fellow

members. Much as I try not to, most of my profits as a dealer, go into other dealers’ pockets…there is always something I can’t resist!
