Sit Down Dinner and "The Accidental Detective" Presentation by Wendy Smale
Saturday, September 21
6:30pm

The Accidental Detective. Why "whodunit" counts for artisans & collectors, with tips to help preserve & share our knowledge.

Wendy will talk about the importance of knowing who made a piece, from the perspective of both artisans & collectors and about the importance of sharing our knowledge to preserve it. Wendy will offer some concrete ideas on how we can do this, such as ways of cataloguing and photographing miniatures, pooling our knowledge to fill out the stories behind the miniatures, and sharing them online to reach a wider audience. Wendy will also talk a little about her current project, an online fully searchable database of miniature makers' marks, which ties all of this together.
