Child’s Cardigan

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This class will focus on garment design and construction. We will be knitting a raglan style cardigan with variegated thread to add to the dimension of the piece. Students will learn how to rib with smaller needles to enhance the affect of scale and they will learn various increasing and decreasing skills to create much smoother seems and neater edges. Students will also be taught my special technique for attaching sleeves and joining seems to create almost invisible seam joints. They will learn how to make buttonholes in their garments as well as how to properly place the buttons. Students will be given a matching hat pattern to take home along with enough extra thread to complete that project.

TIME:

12 hours. Completion is likely with homework.

SKILL LEVEL:

All levels. Students in this class need to have full scale knitting experience and although miniature knitting skills are not required, they will help.

MATERIALS FEE:

$35 to be collected at school
