finding a source for monopoly size houses

By George Hoffman

Q. Hi, I am doing a project that requires me to buy a large quantity of toy houses (like the green Monopoly houses).  Do you know where I can buy them??  Thank you in advance for your reply.

Sincerely, Joe S.

A:   george\ Dear Joe:

Thanks for using the Forum and sending your request question...   boy this is a dilly Joe.  Outside of contacting the maker of Monopoly Milton Bradley, personally I would have made them (before retiring). I would have cut a 24" piece of pine the correct thickness and widths. With a small table saw such as a Dremel cut roof angles at this point if houses needed to be painted this would be the time. After paint dries cut off desired individual lengths.

Perhaps you don't have the tools at your disposal, so your next bet is to contact the maker of these parts. This site along with other searches on www.google.com may open some other options. I found this site and it offers some hope, but all this I'm sorry to say will take time. So look at http://boardgames.about.com/cs/shoppingparts/ht/find_parts.htm   Actually after viewing a few pages I'm wondering if the Monopoly houses are now made from plastic. That may or may not be important to you.

Sorry that I don't have a quick easy source for you, george

Joe's Response:

Hi George,
Thank you for taking the time to write me back regarding the Monopoly houses.  They actually were made of plastic.  I found a company that has something similar and they are sending me samples.... we'll see.
Thanks again, Joe

george\ Dear Joe:

Dear Joe:

I was afraid that newer houses were made of plastic, glad you made contact with a source and lets hope the samples fill the bill.

Good luck: geo
