There will be well over 200 dealers at Tom Bishop’s Chicago International Show next month. Most are artists who make and sell their own work, but there will be one special table, the Gallery of the Guild table, in the middle of the Grand Ballroom that will have the work of many artists for sale, artists who have achieved the level of Artisan and Fellow membership in the International Guild of Miniature Artisans. The Guild extends this benefit of membership to all Artisan and Fellow members who would like to sell their work, but may not be able to attend shows, or generate enough work to fill a table of their own.
Peter Gabel who received his Artisan recognition in the field of miniature plants and flowers has consigned his prize winning composition made from hundreds of tiny shells to the Gallery table in Chicago; it is truly a one of a kind piece.
April Haswell, an Artisan recognized for her very fine crochet work will be represented at the Gallery table by several very tiny crocheted toys.
Chuck Lubin received his Artisan membership in the category of Accessories/Wood Turnings and the Gallery will be showing several of his lovely turned acrylic bowls and vases.
The Gallery of the Guild is a great opportunity for these members to participate in a retail situation that they might not otherwise be able to enjoy, and its a great opportunity for the public to see more great artists’ work.
